Abstract

God Almighty sent prophets to guide humanity so that humanity would know God and learn the way of happiness. From the beginning of human creation, he has sent prophets and apostles to human beings with a plan and instructions called religion, so that they can follow the path of spiritual growth and development by following these divine messengers and following the commandments of their scriptures. The last caravan leader of this caravan is the great prophet of Islam, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), who had many miracles; One of these wonderful events during the Prophet's mission is his heavenly journey to the kingdom and observing the relics of divine greatness, which has been recorded in the history and religious culture under the name of Ascension. This study, referring to written sources and relying on descriptive analytical method, has tried to investigate the event and answer the basic question of how the quality and manner of ascension from the perspective of the commentators of the two sects? The research findings show that all Islamic sects believe in the principle and truth of Ascension, but there is a difference in its quality among scholars; Some consider it purely spiritual, while others consider it spiritual and physical. Most Shiite and Sunni scholars believe that the Ascension of the Prophet (PBUH) took place with the same physical body; But few believe that the Ascension was spiritual.
